Manthan

Project Description
We designed and built Manthan, a unified digital workplace platform for Munitions India Limited that connects employees across 17 units in one ecosystem for communication, engagement, learning, HR services, and workplace operations. The design problem was pulling many disconnected systems into a single mobile-first experience that works for a large, distributed workforce.

Problem
MIL's workforce relied on multiple disconnected systems, which left communication, collaboration, and day-to-day operations fragmented and hard to manage at scale across 17 units.
- Employees had limited access to centralised information and updates, and engagement and feedback initiatives saw low participation.
- HR, learning, and workplace systems were disconnected, and approval workflows and admin processes were complex.
- The organisation needed one secure, role-based platform that worked consistently across all 17 units.
Solution
A mobile-first employee platform, backed by a web-based administration portal, that brings everyday workplace tasks into one place.
- Employee experience: announcements, discussions and messaging, surveys, ideas and recognition, grievance and compliance handling, attendance, leave, salary and profile, plus courses, policies, and a knowledge hub.
- Administration and governance: manage users, content, approvals, and workflows, and monitor engagement, participation, and operational metrics.
- Role-based access and secure governance across all 17 units, designed mobile-first and consistent on web.
Design Process
From discovery through delivery: research interviews, information architecture, wireframes, hi-fidelity UI, and developer handoff. Each gate was validated before the next began.
Style Guide & Components

The Result
Manthan brought MIL's workplace into one unified, intuitive experience. Communication improved across every unit, engagement and participation went up, and approval and operational workflows were streamlined. Learning, HR, and workplace services now live in one place, with far less dependence on disconnected systems and manual processes, which sped up everyday tasks and decision-making across the organisation.
